Samsung Galaxy J1 2016 specs and features roundup

Recent reports suggest that Samsung has already made a move on this department, quietly launching a new mid-specs iteration for its Galaxy J-series.

According to GSM Arena, the 2016 edition of the Galaxy J1 was launched by Samsung in Dubai. The new iteration is already available for purchase in different retailers in the country.

The industry follower added that Samsung decided to skip the formalities in the development of the new Galaxy J1 iteration, since there weren't many speculations on its specs prior to the release.

Gadgets 360 by NDTV added that while the new iteration itself is not yet available on retailer websites, the flagship, which has average specs, can be seen in sales showrooms across Dubai.

The industry observer also added that according to the images seen online, the 2016 edition of the Samsung Galaxy J1 was listed as having a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 800 x 480 WVGA resolution, larger than the original Samsung Galaxy J1's 4.3-inch display.

The 2016 edition has 1 GB RAM, twice the capacity of the original. While the SoC under the hood was unspecified, it was indicated that the processor for the new Galaxy J1 runs as a quad-core, 1.3 GHz chipset. If earlier rumors are any indication, the new Galaxy J1 might be featuring an Exynos 3457 chipset.

Other listed specs of the 2016 Galaxy J1 include 8 GB of internal storage, a 5-MP main shooter at the back partnered with a 2-MP selfie camera at the front, and a 2,050-mAh battery.
