Rumor mills caught glimpse of the second-generation editions of Samsung Galaxy J1 and J5 in new leaked images, proving that the South Korea-based tech firm is indeed hard at work refreshing its popular Galaxy J lineup.

Popular leakster Evan Blass shared on Twitter what he claims are press renders of the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016). The first one shows the front of the yet-to-be-announced smartphone. The device follows the traditional Samsung design language. Gadget NDTV believes the renders match previous leaks of the device.

The images also show that the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) will come in white and gold. In the renders, however, the handsets, no matter what color they go with, tend to keep the screen bezels black. The handset also sports an oblong physical home button and a pair of capacitive buttons.

On the back, users will notice a more generic Samsung design. The camera is slapped right on the upper half center of the device's rear, with a LED flash on the left hand side and a speaker on the right. The headphone jack and the volume rocker are also on the left side.

Specs-wise, Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) should be getting a 4.5-inch display with 480x800 pixel resolution. An Exynos 3457 processor with Mali-720 graphics should hum under its hood. There will be 1 GB RAM to boot and a 5-MP rear/2-MP front camera combo.

Apart from the new-gen Galaxy J1, its big brother Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) also showed up, this time on the Indian import database Zauba. Not much was taken from the listing except that the device will come in a 5.2-inch display. GSM Arena surmises it will be 720p in resolution.

The second generation Galaxy J5 was being tested in India last Jan. 8 and it is believed it will be ready by February, along with the Galaxy J1 (2016).
