Smartphone manufacturers continuously test phones one after another; there is a hungry market to feed. This includes South Korean phone giant Samsung, which seems to be testing a refreshed model of its Galaxy J2 unit, and this time it is expected to be loaded with 2GB of RAM.

An Antutu Benchmark test result was recently uncovered by Weibo, a Chinese website, and it shows some interesting test results. The upcoming Galaxy J2 (2016) SM-J210F will have an upgraded RAM, a 2GB module. Its predecessor contains 1GB of RAM, PriceRaja reported.

The screen shot of the test result also showed additional information about the upcoming entry-level smartphone. It will be featuring an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP selfie snapper, a 16GB internal storage, and an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system. It will also have a 720 x 1080 screen resolution, possible on a 4.7-inch or a 5-inch size screen.

Interestingly, the processor will be an SC8830 with a Mali 400 GPU. The quad-core Spreadstrum processor will have a 1.2 GHz clock speed and will supports 3G connectivity, GSMArena reported.

The same report also stated that a day before the Antutu Benchmark test surfaced, a Geekbench benchmark listing was also discovered. It does contain the same processor, but offers a higher speed, 1.5 GHz. However, it only comes with 1.5GB amount of RAM. It also shows a different chipset, a Spreadtrum SC9830, that offers 4G connectivity.

This prototype scored 1,274 for the multi-core test and 404 for the single-core test, which is sufficient for an entry-level phone.

It was also reported that the same phone model was spotted on an import/export listing bound for India several months ago, which also revealed a price-tag close to its previous model.

Samsung has not issued any official word about its upcoming Galaxy J2 (2016) just yet, but it is expected that it may happen soon. It is also expected that additional information will be available in the near future.
