The rumors are rife that Samsung will launch the latest entry to the budget Galaxy J smartphone series before the year ends. The past several weeks were filled with benchmark listings for the 2017 Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime, although the South Korean tech firm has yet to confirm its arrival. Nevertheless, the recent leaks provide everything that the users need to know about Samsung's next entry-level handset, including its new Exynos 7570 chipset.

As reported by GSMArena, the alleged specifications sheet for the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime 2017 has surfaced online. Based on the details listed on the leaked file, the latest Galaxy J5 Prime version will be powered by the company's very own Exynos 7570 processor under the hood, accompanied by four 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 cores. The device will include 16 GB of internal storage, with an expandable memory slot via microSD card.

The leaked specs sheet for the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime was first posted by HowTechHack, and all the available information so far supports the earlier reports about the low-tier smartphone. To note, some details were already provided in the new Galaxy J5 Prime listing spotted on Federal Communications Commission (FCC) last week. With an FCC certification now secured, it is now getting more likely that the smartphone's launch is imminent.

As for the display, the 2017 Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime will sport a five-inch in-plane switching (IPS) liquid crystal display (LCD) panel. It is not expected that the new J5 Prime will follow the footsteps of the upper-end Galaxy smartphones like the Galaxy S8 and Note 8, which boast an AMOLED screen. Using an LCD panel would keep the smartphone's price within the budget limit.

The specs leaks show that the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime 2017 will feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, while the rear panel will have a 12-megapixel image sensor. NDTV reported that the new J5 Prime will also have a fingerprint scanner embedded into the physical home button just below the screen panel.

It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime 2017 will run the Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box, while the device is packed with 2,500 mAh battery. There is no definite release date set by Samsung for the new entry-level handset, although a J5 Prime upgrade is now overdue as the 2016 version was released more than a year ago.
