Samsung is expected to launch a new smartphone model from its low-tier J-series in the coming months. An unnamed handset, speculated to be the Samsung Galaxy J6, has been spotted on a benchmark site, revealing the specs and features of the upcoming device. The South Korean tech firm has yet to confirm the existence of this phone, but the J6 listing suggests that it will be another great addition to the Galaxy smartphone lineup.

The suspected Samsung Galaxy J6 smartphone was leaked on a Geekbench listing, which it was given the model number SM-J600F. The handset can be easily recognized as the new Galaxy J6, based on the model number alone. The listing shows that the device will run the latest Android 8.0 Oreo OS out of the box. It will use the two-year-old Exynos 7870 mobile processor, which includes a 1.6 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU. The Exynos 7870 chipset is built on the 14nm manufacturing process. Geekbench has given the Galaxy J6 an impressive score of 3,643 points for the multi-core performance, and 726 for the single-core aspect.

The Samsung Galaxy J6 is said to feature 2 GB of random-access memory (RAM), which is just fair for a low-tier smartphone build. As for the display feature, the Geekbench listing shows the Galaxy J6 sporting a maximum screen resolution of 1,200 x 1,920 pixels. So far, the descriptions in the benchmark listing are somehow similar with those for the 2017 Samsung Galaxy J5.

Other hardware details of the Samsung Galaxy J6 are not indicated in the Geekbench listing. The expected date of release of the smartphone is also not certain, but the presence of the benchmark listing is a good sign that the device will be available soon. Aside from the Galaxy J6, Samsung is also rumored to launch another budget J-series phone later this year, the Galaxy J8 (2018). The particular device is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display with 720 x 1,280 pixel resolution, and it will be powered by Exynos 7885 chipset with octa-core 1.6 GHz CPU and 4 GB of RAM.
