Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 release date, leaks: New press renders show devices from all angles

Users can get a good look at the design of the purported Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 in a bunch of press renders that recently made the rounds online.

The leaked images show a version of the smartphone from China Mobile (with its branding plastered on the back). As expected, it sports a metal frame, which makes the handset look sleeker than the original Samsung Galaxy J7.

Last year's iteration had plastic for a chassis. With Samsung opting for metal in the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016, it can be said that the South Korea-based tech company is also keen on sprucing up the look of its mid-range lineup other than its insides, albeit only a bit.

While replacing the plastic with metal affects the overall appearance of the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016, it still possesses Samsung's unmistakable design language.

As seen in the leaked images, there's a physical home button sandwiched between two capacitive buttons at the bottom of the new Samsung Galaxy J7's display.

In addition to the press renders of the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 China Mobile variant, prolific tipster Evan Blass also shared a press render of the white-dipped version of the handset, showing its full frontal glory.

It can be noticed that in the China Mobile images, everything at the top of the display (the sensors, the selfie snapper and the speaker grille) are all packed closer together.

Blass's version had the front-facing camera sitting farther to the right. Other than that, they look identical. When the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 shows up in the flesh, it will be revealed which one's more accurate.

Speaking of which, the device is expected to be launched by the company soon. After all, it already made a stop at the FCC for certification, which means that a device is close to its unveiling.

According to Sam Mobile, it is possible that the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 will be released to China first before other regions such as other Asian markets and Europe.

As for its specs sheet, the Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is said to come with a 5.5-inch 720p display and will be powered by an Exynos 7870 processor with 2GB RAM.

It will offer 16 GB of expandable storage with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow pre-installed. It is expected to boast a 13MP rear-facing shooter and a 5MP front-facing camera. A 3,300mAh will keep the lights on.
