Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date nears: Galaxy S4 orders reduced for phablet mass production [VIDEO]

On the heels of the successful Galaxy S4 smartphone, Samsung will unveil its "next big thing", the Galaxy Note 3 phablet, by the end of the summer.

Latest reports suggest that mass production is underway for the Note 3, so that the supply will be ready for the IFA 2013 Berlin event, where the phone is expected to be unveiled.

According to Korea's etnews.com, the production line for the Galaxy 4 is expected to drop 20-30 percent by July. Suppliers for the Korean electronics company are reportedly 'disgruntled' because part orders have been reduced to just 6.5 million handsets in July. The site states that an insider at Wireless Business Division at Samsung Electronics said the company "had reduced the order to each suppliers at the similar rates. Since we will start placing orders for follow-up models, such as Galaxy Note III, from August, the impact to suppliers will be minimal."

The second half of this year will see new Samsung products such as the Note 3, Galaxy S4 Zoom (hybrid camera phone) and Galaxy S4 Mini.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is one of the hottest smartphones anticipated for year 2013.

Like its predecessors, the next-gen phablet is predicted to release at the IFA event in Berlin, Germany.

The annual event is held around September, and it was where Samsung revealed the first Galaxy Note handset to the world. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was launched in September 2012 at a Samsung Unpacked event, just days before the IFA Berlin 2012.

Android Geeks predicts that the Galaxy Note 3 will be introduced at another Samsung Unpacked event slated to take place a week before IFA Berlin, which kicks off September 6.

Earlier this month, the South Korean tech company listed its upcoming Galaxy Note 3 on its website. The listing in question appeared on Samsung's Kazakhstan website, according to Techtastic, and hinted that it is indeed launch at IFA 2013.

he latest phablet will take on the iPhone 5S, which is most likely to launch around September as well.

The rumored specs for the Galaxy Note 3 includes a huge 5.9 inch 1080 display, 2GB ram and Android 4.3. It may be packed with the latest Android 4.3 if Google releases it by September. If not, it will most likely come with Jelly Bean 4.2.2.

The Note 3 may launch in two versions, with one being powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 and the other with a Octa-core Exynos 5 chipset.
