Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Edge Black Friday deals: Will there be any discounts?

This is a surprise, even a shock, as Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are not included in the Black Friday deals released by U.S. retailers.  Various merchants are offering products like the iPhone 6 and Nexus 9 at reduced prices, but it seems like Samsung's newest flagship smartphones have been left out in the cold.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is currently available for pre-order in major U.S. carriers AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon for $299 upfront price with a two-year contract.  It packs amazing specs and features: 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED at 571 ppi; 2.7 GHz octa-core processor; 3 GB of RAM; microSD slot of up to 64 GB; 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera; 3220mAh battery; and Android 4.4 KitKat.

As for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, it was recently made available through various carriers. Last week, AT&T started accepting pre-orders for the device. It costs $945.99 off-contract.  With a two-year contract, there's a shell out of $399.99. AT&T also offers the device through its Next 18 for $39.42 per month, or AT&T Next 12 for $47.30 per month.

Sprint offers the Note Edge for $35 for 24 months or $840 off-contract, while T-Mobile's offer is $36.25 for 24 months or $870 off-contract.  There is no word yet from Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular if they will offer the Samsung smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge packs a 5.6 inch curved screen display with Quad HD (1600 x 2560) resolution, 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC and Adreno 420 graphics chip paired with 3 GB of RAM. The handset also has a 16 MP back camera with optical image stabilization and heart rate monitor and a fingerprint sensor embedded into the Home button.

Many Samsung fans who are looking forward to getting the Note 4 or Note Edge at a lower price might be disappointed with this news.  But then again, retailers can still update their product lists until Black Friday.
