It looks like users of Samsung's latest smartphones will have to wait for 2015 to get a taste of Android 5.0 Lollipop. Seoul-based Reuters correspondent Vincent Se Young Lee broke the news via his Twitter account on Friday, Dec. 5, saying that the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5 (LTE version), Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 will all have Google's operating system onboard by early 2015.

However, Lee did not narrow down the "early 2015" claim as a report on a specific date or month is still missing. But in another tweet posted by the Reuters reporter, it was revealed that the titanic South Korean firm plans on upgrading the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Korea on Friday. He also added that Samsung has kick-started on making the update available in Poland on Dec. 4.

As per Yahoo News, the news came as a surprise knowing that Samsung has a track record of updating its users to new Android operating systems and updates rather late. In fact, Samsung has been quiet about its Lollipop schemes in the past weeks. But now that some solid information has come to light, users know that they are one step closer to Lollipop.

Google has been busy testing out Android 5.0 Lollipop before it was deemed to be ready to get off the ground. As of now, the search engine giant is gradually rolling it out while it releases the Android KitKat 4.4.4 to devices that have not received it.

In the advent of the software, select Motorola and Nexus devices were first to enjoy the rich colors and stylish layout of Lollipop's Material Design. New perks like lock screen and heads-up notifications are also integrated. Lastly, Lollipop brings about the much needed enhancement on Android smartphone security.
