The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release will take place next week and will head to the U.S. market on Oct. 17. However, the U.S. release date of its almost-twin brother – Galaxy Note Edge – is still unknown.

Samsung's latest phablet, the Galaxy Note 4, will hit the shelves in the U.K. and India on Oct. 10, and in the United States on Oct. 17. The handset is already available in its home country, Korea. The device will continue to arrive in other countries until early November, which, according to Samsung, is its target period to bring the device to all of its markets.

However, for those waiting for the curved phablet, the Galaxy Note Edge, there is no concrete information from the company as to when the device will arrive to U.S. shores. Some carriers already confirmed that they will offer the device, although they have not yet revealed any specific date of release.

Some reports claim that Samsung is planning to roll out the Galaxy Note Edge in Korea in late October. This coincides with the plans of Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. Samsung explained that the key markets of the Galaxy Note Edge are U.S., Korea, China, and Japan. Thus, one can assume that these regions are the top priorities for the release of the phablet. Some regions such as Canada and the U.K. may experience delays for the handset, with some reports stating that the device will arrive in early 2015.

One of the probable reasons for the delay is the curved screen display of the handset, which possibly takes more time to produce. Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will reportedly burn a hole in the pocket. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expensive enough, with $299.99 to $350 upfront price for those who are willing to sign a contract, and an $850 and above off-contract price. Thus, Galaxy Note Edge may be pricier than that although Samsung and carriers have not yet revealed any official pricing of the device.
