Apple

As Apple's iPhone 6 Plus has been recently unveiled and Samsung's Galaxy Note 4's release date in October has already been announced, customers have already begun comparing the pros and cons of these large-screen smartphones.

One of the most evident aspects of the two flagship devices is their dimension with which the Galaxy Note 4 is noticeably thicker and shorter.  Samsung's device is 8.55 mm thick and measures 153.5 x 78.6 mm, while the iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1 mm thick and measures 158.1 x 77.8 mm.

Moreover, Apple's new device features a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. Samsung's offering comes with a larger Quad HD Super AMOLED display measuring 5.7 inches with 2560 x 1440 resolution, thereby contributing to increased clarity.

In terms of their covers, iPhone 6 Plus users can choose gold, white, or gray. Galaxy Note 4, on the other hand, will be offered in charcoal black, bronze gold, blossom pink, and frost white.

The Optical Image Stabilization has been incorporated into both the iPhone 6 Plus and Galaxy Note 4, although the former comes with an 8MP rear camera while the latter's camera at its back is 16MP. In terms of front cameras, the iPhone 6 Plus is at 1.2 MP while the Galaxy Note 4 is at 3.7 MP.

For storage, Apple's offering provides various options including 16GB, 64GB and 128 GB. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 4 features 32GB internal storage plus a microSD slot that can support cards with a maximum of 128GB.

Battery life remains a common concern among users looking into the two smartphones, iPhone 6 Plus may need further reworking as it comes with a 2915 mAh battery compared to the Galaxy Note 4 that has a 3220 mAh battery.

In terms of performance, the iPhone 6 Plus runs with a faster A8 64-bit processor while the Galaxy Note 4 comes with the Snapdragon 805 processor, which may be deemed as a 32-bit processor.

Furthermore, Apple's new gadget runs on the iOS 8 and features the Touch ID fingerprint sensor that calls for users to hold a thumb on the home button using only one hand. Samsung's offering comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and includes a similar fingerprint sensor, although users are required to scan the fingerprint on a senor using their two hands, thereby reducing convenience.

Nonetheless, the Galaxy Note 4 includes an S-Pen that is reportedly more sensitive compared to its predecessors. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus lacks such feature.

As health-related features have become a trend these days, the iPhone 6 Plus has been incorporated with a new Health app to monitor one's health and fitness data, while the Galaxy Note 4 has sensors to determine the user's pulse and the level of UV radiation in a specific environment.

Apple has already announced that the iPhone 6 Plus comes with a retail price of $299.99 for 16GB and $399.99 for the 64GB. The 128 GB model comes with heftier price tag of $499.99. Installment plans and deals with mobile carriers will generate varied prices depending on their policies.

Meanwhile, the price for the Galaxy Note 4 has yet to be announced.
