Samsung fans have already pegged the company's habit of releasing its new Galaxy Note lineup at the annual IFA event in Berlin. However, for this year, it seems the Korea-based company will be breaking tradition. 

According to Samsung's Twitter announcement, the company will be revealing the next Galaxy on Aug. 13. Although it did not specify which Galaxy series the company has in mind, observers guess that Samsung will be unveiling two of the most-talked about upcoming flagships on its smartphone product line – the next Galaxy Note and a follow-up to the Galaxy S6. 

Although it still remains unconfirmed, rumor mills say that the Galaxy Note 5 will be revealed much earlier than anticipated, and it could be one of the big reveals by Samsung next month. Speculations say that since it is reported that Apple will be unveiling a new iPhone before the year ends, equipped with a faster and upgraded proprietary chip and a new iOS 9 platform, Samsung hopes to curb the competition by announcing its next premium flagship much earlier. 

This places the Galaxy Note 5 as the next smartphone coming out, since the Galaxy Note series has been known to be a premium lineup that is targeted to compete with other premium competitors. The reported upgrades to the new Note 5, from an upped 4 GB RAM, down to releasing both a new Exynos and upgraded Snapdragon versions, place come credence to the speculations. 

Aside from the rumored specs, leaked images and sightings have steadily been increasing these past few weeks, with observers saying that these reports could also be a factor for Samsung going ahead and launching the Galaxy Note 5 early. 

Aside from the new Note 5, it is also reported that another flagship, the Galaxy S6 Edge, will receive a new version. The S6 Edge Plus will reportedly sport at least a 6-inch display and will be Samsung's answer to the bigger iPhone 6 Plus from Apple.
