Getting closer to its rumored release date, speculations continue to float online on the next Samsung Galaxy Note. According to supposed leaks, the new flagship will use the same display technology as the Galaxy S7 series, and will have marked improvements like a massive 4,000-mAh battery.

According to SamMobile, a report out of the Netherlands reportedly says that the next Samsung Galaxy Note will be launched as an edge version, without a regular flat display variant. In addition, the publication also revealed that since the technology has been a success so far, the South Korea-based tech conglomerate will be using the display tech seen on the current-gen Galaxy S7 series of flagships. This means that the new Samsung Galaxy Note rumored to launch later this year will have the same Super AMOLED display panel with QHD resolution.

Meanwhile, the industry follower also noted that recent speculations and alleged leaks on the upcoming device refer to the flagship as the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Apparently, Samsung has already decided to skip a version in order to streamline its flagship lineups. Since the other Galaxy S-series flagship is already on its seventh generation, the company is said to skip directly to the Galaxy Note 7 from the current-gen Galaxy Note 5.

Aside from the 5.8-inch QHD display, it is said that the next Samsung Galaxy Note will pack new features and massive improvements over its predecessor. Reportedly, the Galaxy Note 7 will feature a massive 6-GB RAM, as well as 4,000 mAh of battery. In addition, it is rumored that the new Galaxy Note will also launch with a higher-clocked Exynos processor. It is unclear, however, if Samsung will release a one-chipset variant, or if the new Galaxy Note will launch with a Snapdragon processor version (much like the Galaxy S7 series).

While Samsung has yet to reveal when fans can expect the new Galaxy Note, speculations suggest that it may be announced as early as August.
