Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs: next iteration tapped to feature 256GB storage, 4,200 mAh battery

Speculations suggest that Samsung has learned from the success of the Galaxy S7. With the current flagship featuring significant improvements over its predecessor, the Galaxy S6, it is said that the South Korea-based company will also be doing the same thing with the new Galaxy Note.

According to rumors, the Galaxy Note 6 is already in the works, with massive improvements that will allow it to upstage the current-gen Galaxy Note 5.

Phone Arena points out that one of the biggest changes for the Galaxy Note 6 will be in its internals. Rumor has it that the new Galaxy Note will feature a large onboard storage, a massive 256GB one. This massive internal storage will be paired with top-tier specs – a top-of-the-line Snapdragon or Exynos chipset (maybe even both variants, like the Galaxy S7), and at least 6GB of RAM. Meanwhile, to compensate for the monster specs, the Galaxy Note 6 is also expected to come out with a massive 4,200 mAh battery capacity, with at least 48 hours of battery life in between full charges.

The design and build of the Galaxy Note 6 is also expected to get overhauled. Previous rumors have already pointed out that the next Galaxy Note may feature a 5.8-inch curved screen, since Samsung may be thinking of either a curved or flat screen for the Galaxy Note 6.

While the flat display is already a tried-and-tested approach for a phablet, a curved display for a Samsung phablet is also highly plausible, thanks to the recent success of the Galaxy S7 Edge.

It is also said that Samsung will be placing the Galaxy Note 6 as a phablet hybrid. This is certainly possible, should the rumored specs sheet for the phablet be proven true. According to speculations, Samsung is even developing its own lineup of accessories for the Galaxy Note 6, complete with a phablet dock that transforms the upcoming Galaxy Note into a laptop/tablet hybrid.
