Speculations suggest that Samsung is shaping up the Galaxy Note 6 to open another level in the phablet wars, offering top-tier specs and innovative features.

According to Phone Arena, a supposed specs screenshot of a Samsung Galaxy Note 6 appeared online. Although the industry follower deemed the screenshot image to be a fake one, the details listed matches some of the previously rumored features and internals of the upcoming phablet.

Reportedly, industry sources have already established that the Galaxy Note 6 will take some ideas in design and features to previous Samsung flagships, including the flagship's predecessor the Galaxy Note 5. Interestingly, it is also said that the new Galaxy Note will copy some ideas from the current-gen Galaxy S7 series.

One apparently confirmed feature for the Galaxy Note 6 is that it will also carry IP68 rating, meaning that like the Galaxy S7, it will be be dust and water-protected. It is also said that the upcoming Galaxy Note will feature the same 3,700 mAh battery capacity.

Meanwhile, wish lists for the Galaxy Note 6 include a step-up version of the Exynos 8890 chipset, and there are rumors that like the Galaxy S7, the new Galaxy Note will also have a Qualcomm chipset version in some regions. However, instead of a Snapdragon 820, the Galaxy Note 6 iteration is said to carry the step-up Snapdragon 823 SoC instead.

In addition to the new chipset, speculations also suggest that Samsung will make the Galaxy Note 6 a phablet hybrid, featuring a 6-GB RAM on it. This makes the Galaxy Note 6 capable of multi-tasking even in memory-heavy applications. This is what the South Korea-based tech giant has in mind, as talks of a "phablet dock" for the Galaxy Note 6 also surfaced online.

Supposedly, Samsung is also targeting an early release for the Galaxy Note 6, and may even unveil the new flagship as early as August or September.
