Samsung has confirmed that a top-tier edition Galaxy Note 7 – one with 6GB of RAM – will launch soon. However, the premium variant will reportedly come out with a hefty price of more than $900.

The confirmation comes from Samsung itself. Reportedly, the South Korea-based tech conglomerate is mulling the idea of a premium Galaxy Note 7. Samsung Mobile executive DJ Koh has stated that the company is keen to the idea of a souped-up flagship. Koh said, "It is true that we are reviewing the rollout of a new tablet with 128 gigabyte built-in memory in China because Chinese companies are aggressively doing marketing with high-capacity memory."

However, although Samsung may ultimately choose to release the premium variant, fans will have to shell out more, since it is rumored that the edition will fetch a price tag well within the $900-$1,000 range. In addition to a hefty price tag, Forbes mentions that the edition will only be available in China. It is still unclear if Samsung will make the new Galaxy Note 7 premium edition region-exclusive, or if a global release is possible.

Previously, it is rumored that Samsung will make the next Galaxy Note flagship one of the premium iterations with 6 GB of RAM. This is already expected, given that other tech makers such as OnePlus with the OnePlus 3, and Asus with the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, have already released 6GB flagships. However, contrary to speculations, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 launched with only an above-average 4GB RAM in it.

Meanwhile, the planned top-tier edition will supposedly launch with 6GB of RAM, as well as double the onboard storage (128GB against the current 64GB). The premium edition will definitely give the Galaxy Note 7 an edge against its competitors, particularly since the new flagship also features top-notch specs such as an additional iris scanner for biometrics security.
