After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 last February, the public now has its eyes fixed on the South Korean tech firm's premium Note collection. There is no official announcement yet regarding the next-generation Note phablet, although the rumors are rife that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will highlight a huge hardware feature. Specifically, the device is tipped to boast an in-display fingerprint reader technology.

The latest scoop regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was brought by Ice Universe, a known and reliable tech tipster on Twitter. According to his insider sources, Samsung is now ready to integrate an in-display fingerprint scanner to the Galaxy Note 9, something that has always been expected by tech experts from the Galaxy Note 8 successor. 

The in-display fingerprint reader of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to take the spotlight from Apple's Face ID feature in the iPhone X. According to Ice Universe, the company has already overcome the hurdles preventing the inclusion of an optical biometric reader component in the Note 9. Earlier reports suggested that the phablet may no longer have an in-display scanner due to manufacturing issues, but that does not seem to be the case at this point. 

Ice Universe has a good reputation in leaking firsthand Samsung tech information on Twitter, given that he was among the first individuals to post the first-look photos of the Galaxy S8, Note 8, S9, and S9 Plus. He was also able to correctly predict the specs details of the Galaxy S9, thus making his latest Galaxy Note 9 scoop more believable, according to Forbes.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is also revealed to have a much bigger battery capacity compared to its predecessor with a massive 3,850mAh battery cell. This is a 20 percent increase than the Galaxy Note 8's 3,300mAh battery, and the biggest battery to be included in a mass-produced Samsung mobile device. This suggests that Samsung has already got past the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco in 2016, which made them more conservative in adding bigger batteries to their devices.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is reportedly trademarked in Colombia recently for a 2018 release. The phablet's name is already listed among the available Samsung devices in the market, together with the Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.
