A refurbished variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is coming to South Korea soon.

According to Korean-language ETNews, Samsung is going to sell a refurbished version of the Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea this June. About 300,000 units of the 3–4 million recalled units are expected to be sold in the region, after Samsung revamped these devices to make them in a "like-new condition."

Referred to as the Galaxy Note 7R with model number SM-N935, the refurbished phablet is expected to be sold at around 700,000 won or about $620. This is about 300,000 won or around $266 less than the original price of 989,890 won or approximately $878 when it was launched in September 2016.

The Galaxy Note 7R is going to be available in three Korean carriers, namely, LG, KT, and SKT. Externally, the refurbished units will look the same, but slight changes may also be expected.

In particular, the Galaxy Note 7R is coming with a smaller battery at 3200 mAh, compared with the original version of 3500 mAh. This change is expected to address the issue of the device exploding due to its large battery. Aside from this, it is also anticipated to come with Android 7.0 out of the box.

The Galaxy Note 7R is not expected to be sold in the West or other regions aside from South Korea. In March, the company issued a statement to clarify their intent of producing refurbished devices.

Samsung said, "The objective of introducing refurbished devices is solely to reduce and minimize any environmental impact. The product details including the name, technical specification and price range will be announced when the device is available. Samsung will not be offering refurbished Galaxy Note 7 devices for rent or sale in the US."

Meanwhile, Samsung is expected to push through with the Galaxy Note 8, set to be launched sometime this year.
