Another Samsung Galaxy device will be getting an Android bump soon, with reports that AT&T is currently rolling out Android 5.1.1 for its exclusive Samsung Galaxy S5 Active.

The said patch currently being rolled out comes with the build number MY47X.G870AUCU2COJ3. It is approximated to be about 640 MB large, so for the ones who plan to apply the patch, it may be wise to ensure that the phone is connected to a good and stable WiFi connection when downloading the said update. 

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is a ruggedly designed device made for outdoor use. The device boasts of a 5.1-inch HD Super AMOLED display and comes with a 1-megapixel camera that aims to assist users who undertake an active lifestyle.

Although the focus these days is really on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop should be an equally important update to get at least for now.

The patch will come with important bug and security fixes which should append leftover issues from its existing OS, which is Android 5.0. 

The update will include new features such as Android for Work and also give owners a fix for the Ultra Power Saving Mode, which should help out folks who are using the On Device Encryption.

Hence, for Samsung Galaxy S5 Active owners under AT&T, it would be best to keep an eye out for the update by checking the phone's settings. Although there seems to be no risk mentioned for now, it would be better to do the usual precautionary measures by backing up important data and files before applying the update.

Aside from making sure that the device has a stable connection, make sure as well that it is properly charged by at least 50% when the update does become available.
