Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini to be 4.47-inches; may be renamed Galaxy S5 Dx

An image leaked by @evleaks believed to be the Galaxy S5 Mini

Samsung just released its full sized Samsung Galaxy S5 to much fanfare a month ago but the web is buzzing about the cut-down version and what that will look like.

An image newly leaked to Zauba shows the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini with a 4.47-inch display Super AMOLED display.

That's still a very decent display size for a Mini smartphone and is actually just slightly smaller than the original Samsung Galaxy S5's 5.1 inches.  But it is also amply bigger than the iPhone 5S's 4-inch screen.

The leaked image reveals that the sample device made its way through Delhi Air Cargo for testing and evaluation and not for retail sale.

Meanwhile Twitter tipster  spotted an illuminating piece of information accidentally pushed out by Samsung on the Samsung.com website about a device called the Samsung Galaxy S5 Dx.

The image tweeted by @evleaks shows a multicolored start screen and the speculation now is that this is in fact the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini.

However, it may not be as the model number of the device that appeared on Zauba was SM-G800F, while the model number for the device on the @evleaks leak was SM-G800.

The device when it releases is expected to come with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip, an 8mp camera and be water and dust resistant like the Galaxy S5.

From the screengrab taken by @evleaks it looks like Samsung will be encouraging consumers to tag team the phone with its Gear and Gear Fit devices.
