Now that Apple Inc. has released its latest line of flagship phones which are bigger than its predecessors, it can already be pitted against the big flagship phone from Samsung.

Apple's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus finally jumped on the phablet bandwagon that Android phones have long been dominating. One of the top contenders in the phablet market is Samsung' Galaxy S5.

Here is a comparison between the two leading large smartphones in the market today.

Design

iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7-inch screen with 1,334 x 750 resolution pixel display with LED-backlit IPS LCD and shatter proof glass protection. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S5 is bigger, with a 5.1-inches screen and 1080 x 1920 high definition display with Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Features

The iPhone 6 runs using iOS 8 with the latest Apple A8 chipset and Dual-core 1.4 GHz Cyclone CPU plus PowerVR GX66650 GPU. Meanwhile, the S5 runs with Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS with Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset and Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 220 GPU.

The primary camera for iPhone 6 boasts 8 megapixels with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. It also has a video capacity of 1080p@60fps. Its secondary camera takes powerful photos at 1.2 megapixels with face detection features. The Galaxy S5 has a more powerful primary camera with 16 megapixels plus face detection autofocus and LED flash. The video capacity for this phablet can reach up to 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 720p@120fps, HDR and dual video recording. It also has a 2-megapixel secondary camera with dual video call.

Memory

The iPhone 6 is being sold in the market at 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB internal memory varieties, all with 1 GB RAM. However, it does not feature any external card slot. The Galaxy S5 is available at 16 GB and 32 GB varieties, both with 2 GB RAM and a microSD slot allowing for up to 128 GB additional storage.
