AT&T

With the release of the successful Samsung Galaxy S6 just last April of this year, Samsung Electronics is already launching a new variant, the Galaxy S6 Active, beginning  June 12.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is available with AT&T in the U.S., on its official website and retail stores, for the time being.

The new smartphone comes with great endurance, water resistance capability and longer battery life.

It comes with a sharp 16 mega pixel rear camera and a 5 mega pixel wide-angle front-facing camera. The phone is dust proof and can be soaked in water for up to thirty minutes without damage, according to the IP68 and the U.S. Mil-STD-810G ratings.

It has a 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 handset runs on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system and comes with the Octa core 64bit processor, which is according to AT&T "Samsung's fastest and most powerful processor in a smartphone".

With the handset's "Activity Zone" feature, active users can use the compass, a stop watch and flashlight, among others.

In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S6 handset offers users 32GB of internal memory space and 3GB RAM. The colors available, according to AT&T, are gray, camo white and camo blue.

President of the mobile division at Samsung Electronics America, Tim Baxter said, "With the Galaxy S6 active, we're delivering consumers with high durability coupled with the powerful performance of Samsung's latest flagship smartphone,"

"The result is a smartphone that brings ruggedized capabilities and water resistance coupled with the camera, battery and design features that empower our consumers and business users to do more."

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is very attractive for those looking for a tougher smartphone that can handle whatever comes in its way.
