Since Samsung released the Galaxy Note Edge last year, it has been rumored that the company will unveil a variant of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 with similar concept. This rumor is further strengthened by new reports that the device was sent to India for testing and scrutiny.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge reportedly has a model number of SM-G925F. Reports say that the testing will begin this week, which will include tests on the durability, endurance, as well as software compatibility.

The leaked import data listed that the device will cost $710, which is relatively cheaper than the Galaxy Note Edge, which has a price tag of almost $1,000. This could be the manufacturing price or the guarantee price of the device.

Interestingly, last month, a report emerged that the Samsung Galaxy S6 was spotted in the import/export tracking website Zauba and claimed that a prototype of the device was also sent to India for testing. The handset appeared with the model number SM-G920F. However, the details of the smartphone were not revealed.

These reports hint the imminent release of the two Samsung devices. Furthermore, there's buzz going around that the Samsung Galaxy S6 was showcased secretly at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. U.S. carriers allegedly got the first look at the smartphone.

While there has been no confirmation from Samsung, rumor has it that the Galaxy S6 and its sibling, the S6 Edge, will share similar specs and features including a 5.5-inch Full HD screen display. Conversely, other reports say that the S6 will feature a 5-inch screen panel but will be equipped with quad HD resolution.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset or an octa-core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture is speculated to be featured in both devices, along with 4 GB of RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with microSD slot for additional storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 3.1-megapixel front-facing camera, and longer battery life.

However, these specifications remain as mere speculations as Samsung has not announced anything yet.
