The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge may be new but that doesn't mean eventual owners will have to wait a bit to get to the latest Android Lollipop 5.1 OS. Reports have it that Samsung is hard at work to boost the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to the latest Android 5.1 OS. Both devices come with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop upon purchase.

But it seems that the Galaxy S6 is not the only one scheduled for an upgrade. The same report from SamMobile reveals that the company is also working on bumping the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime and Galaxy Mega 2 to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

With these rumors, it seems that Samsung intends to bump up most of their devices to the latest Android versions (5.0/ 5.1) though the official date on when they would be made available remains unknown for now.

But of all the devices, it may be interesting when the Android update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge would come out. This is because with all the hype that the devices are getting, it seems almost apparent that eventual owners would be clamoring for an upgrade for the in-demand Samsung handsets.

With anticipated record sales for both the S6 and S6 Edge that may result in eventual supply shortage for the said devices, an Android update could take some time. Both devices are touted to improve on the sales that the previous Samsung Galaxy S4 currently holds.

And while Samsung intends to bump up most of its devices, one of the devices which may (or may not) get an Android build is the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Though reportedly still in the developmental stages, it remains to be seen if the Galaxy Note 2 will get a bump towards the Lollipop OS version.
