Samsung's much-anticipated Galaxy S6 may finally see the light of day on March 2 at the Mobile World Congress. 

News from a Korean website, The Chosun Ilbo, tipped that Samsung will announce the successor of the Galaxy S5 at the aforementioned trade show. However, unlike last year, the handset will be presented during a press conference of the company during the event. In 2014, Samsung pulled a separate press event ahead of the MWC. 

Although the source of the information is unknown, Samsung was one of the head turners at the recent Consumers Electronics Show, both in its presscon and its keynote. This may have influenced the alleged decision of the company to take advantage of the upcoming event. 

It was initially thought that the Galaxy S6 will be unveiled a day ahead the trade show. However, HTC already announced that it will hold a press event on March 1. The two companies may clash and battle for the press and consumers' attention, which might have also prompted Samsung to drop the idea of hosting a separate event. 

Meanwhile, rumors say that the Galaxy S6 will feature a 5.5-inch screen display with Full HD resolution, although some reports state that the handset will keep its 5-inch screen panel with quad HD resolution. The Galaxy S6 will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset or an octa-core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture and 4 GB of RAM. Other purported features of the smartphone are 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with microSD slot for additional storage, 16-megapixel rear camera and 3.1-megapixel front-facing camera, plus a longer battery life. The handset is expected to run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS topped with an overall new TouchWiz user interface. 

However, Samsung has not released any official information as of now. Consumers will have to wait and see what the company has in store for everyone.
