Rumors are going around that Samsung will launch its newest smartphone, the Galaxy S6, in early 2015.  This is based on Samsung's history of smartphone releases which, in the past, took place during the Mobile World Congress.

If speculations prove true, then Samsung's newest device is set to go head-to-head with rival company Apple's latest smartphone.  It is said that the Galaxy S6 will be better and sturdier than the iPhone 6, with a top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or 810 chipset with 64-bit architecture and an Adreno 430 GPU to support high resolution images and videos for an immersive 3D gaming experience.

The Galaxy S6 is also expected to have a 20-megapixel camera, according to PC Magazine.  Furthermore, it will allegedly have an aluminum body similar to the Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Note 4 as well as the iPhone 6.  The smartphone is also said to have a fingerprint sensor, like its predecessor, the Galaxy S5.

Aside from that, speculators are predicting that the Galaxy S6 will boast other features like a curved and flexible 5.2 or 5.3-inch super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode display with a screen resolution of 4K or four times the resolution of High-Definition, which equates to 3,840-by-2,160 pixels.

While Apple was criticized because of the "Bendgate" phenomenon (the phone is said to bend) as well as software issues on the iOS 8, Samsung is no stranger to issues either. Some consumers put forward a complaint about the latest offering by the South Korean company, the Samsung Note 4, saying that there are gaps around the edges of the new device.

It remains to be seen whether or not the new Samsung Galaxy S6 will have the same or other issues, if and when it is finally released.  Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone will allegedly cost below $1000, since the Galaxy S5 was priced at $972 SIM-free.
