Samsung Galaxy S6: Leaks hint at new design, 5.5 inch display and metal casing

A fresh leak hints that the Samsung Galaxy S6 may have features that are quite different from what consumers are expecting. According to the new leak from a Chinese source, the Samsung Galaxy S6, also dubbed as Project Zero, will come with an overall new design, a larger 5.5-inch screen display, and a full aluminum body.

The leak shows that the device has a longer profile and fluorescent yellow color, which is highly unappealing. The source also divulged other specifications, including a 1080p Full HD screen resolution, Snapdragon 801 SoC from Qualcomm, Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, and 20-megapixel back camera.

With these rumored features, many doubt that this is Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone. It is most likely that the device is a mid-range handset. The model number of the smartphone is revealed as SM-G430, which is different from the other rumored number – SM-G920F.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 with the model number SM-G920F was seen in the import/export tracking website Zauba. It was allegedly already sent to India for testing. However, the details of the smartphone have not been revealed and analyzed.

Contrary to the fresh leak, previous rumors say that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will have specs and features that are greater than its predecessor. The handset will not cross the 5-inch screen size, but it will have a quad HD or 4K display resolution. Moreover, the handset is rumored to be powered by the soon-to-be-released Snapdragon 810 chipset and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

Reports state that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be launched next month at the Consumers Electronics Show 2015, although other reports claim that it will happen at the Mobile World Congress in March. However, the South Korean tech company has not announced anything official yet.
