The latest Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors claim that the smartphone will sport high-speed storage systems.

An unnamed Samsung insider revealed that it will replace the internal and external memory cards of its devices, including its smartphones and tablets.

"UFS is an important element for our smartphone business next year. We will start the application centering on flagship smartphones. However, we cannot disclose any details because the time of a new smart phone release next year and specifications of this new model have not been finalized," the insider said, according to Trusted Reviews

ETNews reported that the rumored smartphone from Samsung will sport a Universal Flash Storage or UFS, which is the upgrade of NAND storage. UFS offers fast storage transfers, easier integration into embedded apps as well as decreased power consumption compared to the current storage systems or SD cards used in other smartphones.

This particular type of storage system is designed for mobile apps as it delivers high performance while keeping the power consumption at the minimum. The storage system also works by fusing a super-fast solid state drive with a low-power embedded multimedia card. The UFS storage system is good for 1.2 GB/s transfers, which is better than the current 400 MB/s speed of transfer.

Rumors claim that Samsung will mass produce UFS at the end of 2014, which hints that the feature will land on the Samsung Galaxy S6, said to be bound for release in early 2015.

Aside from flash storage, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumored to come with curved display first seen in the Galaxy Note Edge. There were rumors that the smartphone will have the same screen size, but will have greater screen resolution. Some reports are saying that the S6's screen will be 4K pixels.

Other rumored features of the smartphone are Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810, 4 GB of RAM, 21-megapixel back camera, and 6-megapixel front-facing camera with full HD capture. The smartphone will also sport a 4000 mAh battery with ultra-battery saver mode feature.
