More and more handsets are being fitted out with Android Lollipop. Currently, the international variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) and S6 Edge (SM-G925F) in France are getting Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, the latest version of Google's current operating system. The software update takes up 623 MB of space, which is smaller than expected.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop brings a whole host of fixes that the South Korea-based tech firm has yet to detail but there are some changes users will almost instantly notice upon upgrading to the firmware. For instance, the camera's exposure can now be adjusted straight from the viewfinder. Also, thanks to the update, users are now able to remove Quick Connect and S Finder buttons from the notification display for a more organized view. 

The update also grants users the ability to arrange the apps in alphabetical order. While other Samsung handsets always enjoyed this feature, the TouchWiz build of the Samsung Galaxy S6 seems to have taken it away, but now it's officially back. 

Unfortunately, the Galaxy S6's persistent RAM issue hasn't been quashed by Android 5.1.1. The concern makes the handset use more RAM power than it's supposed to. 

The update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge is rolling out over the air. Those who have yet to receive a notification regarding the download can check the software's availability by going to Settings - About device - Software updates - Check Now. 

Sam Mobile says that users can download it via Samsung Kies. The update is expected to reach more regions as this French rollout progresses.
