The recently released Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge got the gold treatment when the new devices from the South Korean tech giant were transformed by a Vietnamese gold plating shop called Karalux. GSM Arena reported that the gold treatment for the smartphone can be seen along the unit's metal rim located around the camera module, since the front and back of the device cannot be modified because of its Corning Gorilla Glass 4 panels.

Karalux is willing to transform an ordinary Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to become gold encrusted in as fast as three hours. The additional labor will cost consumers at least $1,300 for the gold-rimmed Samsung Galaxy S6, while the golden Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge costs around $1,500. But for those who already bought the unit, the shop can still work on it and charge customers $400.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 features a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. It also comes with a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57 processor and an Exynos 7420 chipset. The device is also pre-loaded with the latest Android OS 5.0.2 Lollipop upon release.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge also has the same dimensions and internal specs, but it has a different style since the glass display panel is extended to both its sides.

The other features commong to both smartphones include the 16-megapixel primary rear shooter with LED flash, autofocus, and optical image stabilization, as well as a 5-megapixel secondary shooter with dual video call and auto HDR.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices can be purchased in 32 GB, 64 GB, or 128 GB varieties with 3 GB internal RAM without a built-in microSD slot.
