Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge release date on Apr. 10.Samsung

Samsung finally took the wraps off of the new Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge and announced that the devices will be released on April 10. The handsets are confirmed to arrive in all U.S. carriers, although the networks are very vague about the smartphones' exact date of availability.

AT&T confirmed that it will offer the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. It has put up a sign up page that allows interested buyers to enter their emails while waiting for the official details, pricing, and the estimated date of arrival of Samsung's new smartphones. The webpage posted that the handsets will be available in spring. The carrier will also hold a contest to lure consumers to check out AT&T's webpage for the smartphone. Buyers will get a chance to win a Samsung Gear S.

AT&T's sister company Sprint also put up a teaser webpage that confirms that it will offer the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, too. For the meantime, subscribers will have to enter their name and contact details in the sign up page. The details of the smartphone remains undisclosed.

T-Mobile also put up a sign up page with an unconfirmed release date of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, which will be revealed soon. Just like AT&T, T-Mobile is holding a contest wherein the winner will win an artillery of Samsung products. Subscribers will also have a chance to win weekly prizes or the grand prize of an entire Samsung ecosystem worth up to $3,500.

Verizon, the largest U.S. carrier, confirmed that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge will be released in early second quarter, which is likely April or May. Like other carriers, Verizon has put up a sign up page and the network will send out official details and pricing of the handsets to those who show interest.

More details will emerge soon as the date approaches April 10 and pre-orders will most likely be opened a week earlier at the least. Meanwhile, the pricing of the handsets are still unknown. The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge is expected to be expensive considering the new specs and features of the smartphones.
