Prices of the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and its curved screen variant, the Galaxy S6 Edge, appeared online, showing that the new smartphones are pretty expensive compared to the price tag attached to last year's Galaxy S5. 

Samsung Netherlands and Samsung-centric tech blog SamMobile leaked the prices of the new Samsung Galaxy smartphones. According to the sources, the 32 GB variant of the Galaxy S6 costs €699 ($781), while the Galaxy S6 Edge of the same storage variant costs €849 ($949). 

Below are the other purported prices of other storage variants: 

• 64 GB Galaxy S6 — €799 ($893) 
• 128 GB Galaxy S6 — €899 ($1,004) 
• 64 GB Galaxy S6 Edge — €949 ($1,060)
• 128 GB Galaxy S6 Edge — €1,049 ($1,172) 

The aforementioned prices are definitely higher than the price of the Galaxy S5, which was offered for around $650. The sudden increase in the price is not surprising since the company greatly improved the specs and features of the devices. 

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge pack similar specs and features such as: 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7 processor, 16-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and 2550 mAh battery capacity. Both smartphones run with Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The main difference of the two new smartphones is the curved screen display. The Galaxy S6 Edge sports two symmetrical curved sides. 

The two S6 smartphones are scheduled to be released on April 10, and will be made available through various U.S. carriers and retailers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, US Cellular, Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, and Costco. Currently, networks have sign up pages put up to later inform interested buyers of more details. These details are expected to be revealed in the next few weeks as April 10 approaches, and pre-orders will most likely be opened a week earlier at the least.
