Apart from possessing a premium design that is expected to be present on all of the South Korean phone giant's future smartphones, Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 is also rumored to be equipped with a triple edge display, compared to the single edge display that is present on the Galaxy Note Edge.

According to Bloomberg, the upcoming Galaxy S6 will be an iteration of the company's Note Edge, with the primary difference separating the two devices being that the lesser performing model features a single curved edge display, while the Galaxy S6 will feature a curved screen that will be present on both sides, resulting in a triple edged display.

It is also expected that the device will be equipped with a beefier battery compared to its predecessor. The curved edges can be used to improve overall productivity for the user because both edges feature a 'user defined' notification system where users can configure it according to their requirements to help them view notifications more flexibly.

Samsung's Exynos 7420 chipset, which is said to be incorporated in to the Galaxy S6 as well as the Galaxy S6 Edge, happens to be a very capable chipset. Against Apple's A8X tri-core chipset, which is currently present inside the iPad Air 2, the Exynos 7420 was able to beat it in the multi-core test, thanks to the latest GeekBench benchmark leak, even though the chip failed to overtake the A8X in the single core test.

In short, the device is expected to pack quite a punch in terms of both performance, design and innovation. The primary reason why Samsung resorted to change the overall aesthetic when it comes to the design of its smartphones is because the Android smartphone giant has had a terrible financial year in 2014, with its market share plummeting to 19.8 percent from almost 28.8 percent a while back.

With rising Chinese tech firms like Xiaomi and Huawei quickly catching up to the firm, Samsung will be looking to end its drought spell with the release of the Galaxy S6.
