After Bloomberg reported that the upcoming Galaxy S6 will be sporting three curved edge displays, the latest rumor revolving around the South Korean smartphone giant's flagship device will be that it will be providing support for wireless charging. The Galaxy S6 will be sporting the premium metal finish and not the plastic exterior that Samsung ncorporated into its previous flagship smartphones.

However, while the primary rumor states that the device will offer wireless charging, such a feature will not be possible due to the smartphone's metal chassis. According to GSMArena, one of the primary reasons why the Galaxy S6 will not be able to provide the feature is because the magnetic induction process will not be able to take place within the metal chassis. Instead, the metal exterior will act as an insulator for electro-magnetic waves, thus rendering the whole process implausible and at the same time, dangerous.

According to the same website, if the rumor does end up being true, then the Galaxy S6's rear side will not completely be comprised of metal. In order to fully support wireless charging, the smartphone will have to sport carefully placed portions of plastic, or any other material that do not possess the properties of electrical conduction. 

Samsung's previous flagship device, the Galaxy S5, featured a removable battery and since it is expected that the Galaxy S6 will not be sporting a removable battery, it gives additional speculation that the handset will possess support for wireless charging. While the only place where the confirmation of this rumor will take place is at the MWC on March 1, 2015 (which happens to be one whole day before the actual event takes place), what is known about the upcoming smartphone in terms of hardware specifications have been summarized below.
