South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics just released the new Samsung Galaxy S6 last April of this year, and the latest Samsung Galaxy J5 just recently this month in China.

As part of the J series, the new Samsung Galaxy J5 along with another model, the Samsung Galaxy J7, are the South Korean company's first ever smartphone devices that come with LED flashes on the front.

The new Samsung Galaxy J5 comes with a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera that offers would-be owners and selfie fans wide-angle capability. The new smartphone has a sharp 13 mega pixel rear camera with autofocus capability and an LED flash as well.

The recently released Samsung Galaxy S6, on the other hand, comes with a more powerful 16 mega pixel rear camera and a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera, without an LED flash on the front of course.

The new Samsung Galaxy J5 sports a 5 inch TFT display screen with a 720 x 1280 resolution, while the Samsung Galaxy S6 has a slightly larger 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution, and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The Galaxy S6 is powered by an Exynos 7420 processor and the Galaxy J5 comes with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410. Both phones run on the Android Lollipop operating system.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 offers users 3 GB worth of RAM and the Samsung Galaxy J5 has only 1.5 GB RAM. The new J5 also comes with a bigger 2600 mAh battery than the S6's non-removable 2550 mAh battery.

The new Samsung Galaxy J5 was just released after the South Korean company launched two new tablets, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Tab E, to the Indian market, according to a report.

It's unclear whether Samsung plans to release the new Samsung Galaxy J5 handset to other regions besides China. The new handset costs about US$225 only.
