The much-rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is now on the official list of devices for an AT&T subscription.

Fans who want to get the new Active version of the current-gen Galaxy S flagship can now check out the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active online. Meanwhile, now that the new variant is already out on the market, first impressions have started to make their way online, with observers impressed with the Galaxy S7 Active's toughness standards.

According to Trusted Reviews, the new Galaxy S7 Active is designed with toughness in mind, and the new flagship addition is virtually indestructible. When tested side by side with the base model Galaxy S7, although the latter also performed splendidly, the new Active version has the advantage in form, build and design. Reportedly, the tests even included the drop test, where the two Galaxy S7 variants were dropped screen-face down on hard concrete. Even after repeated drops, the Galaxy S7 Active only sustained minor scratches, and the display remained shatterproof.

Meanwhile, The Verge adds that although this is already the fourth version of an Active variant in the series (Active additions started with the Galaxy S4), not much has changed with the way Samsung develops the Active lineup. Basically, the Galaxy S7 Active is just a reinforced version of the Galaxy S7. Performance-wise, not much difference is expected, since the Galaxy S7 Active sports the same features of the base model Galaxy S7. Its under-the-hood specs include a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM. Even the UI and the camera setup on the Active version remained the same.

The new Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is available for $794.99 upfront, or $26.50 per month over a 30-month period. There is also an option of paying $33.13 per month in a two-year contract.
