As Samsung prepares for the imminent release of its next flagship, a brand new leak that hints at the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus springs up. New batches of photos featuring the curved edition of the flagship have made the rounds.

The photos did not show much of the screen so the supposed curvature is not visible. All the same, it looks like this wasn't the aspect the leakster is trying to show anyway but some of the specs that are flashed on the handset's screen.

According to the leaked image, the display of the purported Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus generates a 2560 x 1440 screen resolution, which spreads across its 5.71-inch display. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor under its hood with 4 GB RAM to boot.

The device, at least the one that the leakster has, offers 32 GB worth of storage space. While all this seems to be a fitting set of specifications for the flagship, the leaked photo's authenticity dampens its claim of the device's camera department.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Plus will allegedly have a 5-MP selfie snapper on the front but on the back, it will sport a 12.2-MP rear-facing shooter. Samsung followers will remember that the original Galaxy S7 Edge had a 16-MP unit.

However, BGR notes that higher megapixels do not necessarily denote a higher quality camera. There are other aspects that can be tweaked to improve imaging quality. If this is what Samsung is doing, the newest from the South Korea-based tech firm will not fall behind its predecessor.

On the other hand, earlier rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature a microSD card slot that will support up to 200 GB of extra space. The standard version will also allegedly have a 3,000-mAh battery while the Edge variant will boast a bigger 3,600-mAh battery.

As for the release date, rumor has it that by next month, Samsung will be ready to lift the veil off its newest flagship.
