The only thing left now for folks who want to finally see the Samsung Galaxy S7 is to wait.

Recent weeks saw a spike on speculations on what the Samsung Galaxy S7 would actually carry and now, the only thing left is to perhaps see if any or all of the murmurs are indeed true. And the day of reckoning is on Feb. 21, a day before the actual 2016 Mobile World Congress kicks off.

The day will be, of course, Samsung's traditional Unpacked Media Event which will take place in Barcelona and live streamed via YouTube.

It remains to be seen if the rumors that came out in the open from recent weeks will indeed be true.

Among the specs that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will bring (per rumors) include the following:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor
  • GB RAM
  • 2560 x 1140 Quad HD display (5.2-inch for Galaxy S7 and 5.5-inch for Galaxy S7 Edge)
  • Return of the microSD card
  • 12-megapixel main camera with dual pixel autofocus
  • 5-megapixel front-facing shooter
  • Larger battery
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box

Other than those, other possible features for the Samsung Galaxy S7 include a black chassis casing, a USB Type-C port, a new waterproof design, and a pressure-sensitive display believed to be something similar to what the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus carry right now.

Until Feb. 21 comes around, all these remain unofficial despite the tempting mix. Some could be around and some maybe not.

The only thing certain is that Samsung will have something new for the smartphone addicts and, hopefully, it will be an impressive one that can give Apple a run for its money.

With the event still weeks away, Samsung has released a teaser video instead that includes its virtual reality device. Check it out below.
