Samsung has just unveiled its newest Galaxy flagship, the Note 5, and it seems that the company is already hard at work developing its next-gen smartphones. Since the Galaxy series is composed of at least two flagship product lineups – the Note and S variants – fans of the South Korea-based company are now asking when the next flagship in the S series will be seen.

It seems that those who are waiting for the next Galaxy S product will see the device soon as leaks of what some suspect to be Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S7 features surface online.

In a tweet by French tech blogger Steve Hemmerstoffer, an AnTuTu benchmark shows specs for a device codenamed "Lucky." If the screenshot pertains to the next Samsung Galaxy S7, fans of the series will probably see a Samsung device with a 5.7-inch screen with 2K resolution, a Snapdragon 820 chipset and Adreno 530 graphics partnered with 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, and 16- and 5-MP cameras.

However, reading the replies of those who have seen the tweet, some responded that it is highly unlikely that Samsung will come up with a 5.7-inch Galaxy S7, and pointed out that the device, if it is indeed a Samsung, might be a prototype for the next Note. Noted tipster @OnLeaks, on the other hand, said that the device might be one variant of an upcoming Galaxy.

There are rumors that Samsung will be doing what Apple did for its last two lineup iterations and will make two variants of the Galaxy S7. According to speculations, aside from a larger 5.7-inch version that would be on par with the recently-unveiled iPhone 6s Plus by Apple and other flagship phablets from competitor companies, there would also be a 5.1-inch base model of the device. Speculations also suggest that aside from a Snapdragon 820 chipset model, another Galaxy S7 will also come out using Samsung's own Exynos M1 processor.

The exact release date for Samsung's next Galaxy S flagship is still unknown but observers agree that it could come out by the early months of next year.
