Samsung Galaxy S7 rumors started to make rounds shortly after the Korean tech launched their latest smartphone, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Now, new reports are pointing to the S7's release date, which is said to be on January 2016, according to Korean news site ET News, as reported by Sam Mobile. Specifically, the big announcement is said to take place on a Tuesday, Jan. 19.

GSMArena also reported that S7 will come in two versions: premium and sub-premium. Additionally, the designs for the upcoming mobile phone have allegedly been completed already in September.

As for the specs, Galaxy S7 is expected to carry different processors, depending on which market it will be distributed in.

The smartphone is rumored to have a technology that allows the screen to be highly sensitive to pressure to rival that of Apple's 3D Touch technology.

Reports are suggesting that the company is considering having ClearForce technology from Synaptics to achieve that feature.

The phone will also have a USB Type C-support and may sport dual camera that has 20-megapixel primary sensor.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S6 series is still among the first-rate smartphones from the Korean tech company since it was released not so long ago in April. With the rumors about the S7 circulating, it is expected that the upcoming smartphone is going to be a big announcement.

Since S6 is relatively new and already sports a sophisticated design, it is expected that S7 will also adopt the design and won't make major changes.

Of course, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt because none of them have been officially announced by Samsung.

There's still a lot of time for the company to finalize everything, so it only means there's also time for the rumored specs to change. It's expected that more details about the Galaxy s7 should come out soon.
