Samsung is reportedly planning to release two new phones near the start of next year, as both the Galaxy S7 and S7+ could be making their way to the market in February.

According to Neurogadget, Samsung is reportedly planning to ramp up production of the phones by January of next year. If that rumor turns out to be true, then the company would be more than prepared to debut their newest models by the following month.

Interestingly enough, Samsung appears to be tweaking things just a bit for their new units.

Both the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 and a new Exynos processor have been rumored for both the Galaxy S7 and the S7+ and Samsung could ultimately decide to feature both. Samsung could end up using the Snapdragon 820 processors for the North American and European versions of the new phones, while their customers in Asia might get to try out the new Exynos-powered units.

As interesting as using two different processors might be, Samsung might be taking it a step further for both units by introducing something else entirely new to the equation.

According to Kbench and reported on by Tech Radar, Samsung has already filed a trademark request for a new type of glass cover known as Turtle Glass.

The still currently unconfirmed Turtle Glass is expected to be stronger and more durable than the Gorilla Glass that is being used for Samsung devices. Turtle Glass also appears to be something Samsung has engineered on its own, meaning it will likely only be included in their new models.

As for the other specs of the devices, the S7 is expected to have a 5.2-inch display while the S7+ will likely have a slightly larger one at 5.8 inches.

Both units are also expected to come with 4 GB of RAM upon being released.

Samsung has not confirmed the rumored specs for the Galaxy S7 and the S7+.
