Although Samsung still has to provide confirmed details about its plans for this year, hardcore fans of the South Korea-based tech giant's lineups, particularly its smartphones, are already expecting the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7.

Meanwhile, even if there is still no word on when the new flagship will arrive, numerous supposed leaks and inside information have allegedly made their way online, giving fans some sort of preview of what to expect.

The latest rumors suggest that Samsung listened to fan feedback and made the Galaxy S7 a much improved, and better version of the Galaxy S series, even bringing back some old features from previous iterations to make an all-rounder flagship this time.

Some top-rumored features (both new and improved, and returning from old iterations) of the Samsung Galaxy S7 include:

  • Expandable storage – According to tech observers, one of the best things that Samsung decided to bring back to its Galaxy S series is expandable storage. Speculations strongly suggest the Galaxy S7 will launch with the return of microSD support and will expand the iteration's storage by up to 200 GB.
  • Bigger battery capacity – ValueWalk also supported the microSD card support rumor, adding that should Samsung decide to place the slot on the back panel, a removable cover would also mean the return of upgradeable batteries. Nonetheless, the industry follower surmised that the Galaxy S7 will ship out with at least a 3,000-mAh battery for the base model, and a larger 3,600-mAh one on the Galaxy S7 Edge, significantly bigger capacities than the Galaxy S6 lineup.
  • Full lineup releases – Previous Galaxy S series releases saw fans enjoy the base model first, with the new iterations coming out months after. For the Galaxy S7 though, noted tipster Evan Blass noticed that Samsung seems to be readying a single-period release for its full flagship lineup.
  • Improved camera assembly – While it is rumored that the Galaxy S7 will drop to 12 MP from the 16-MP main camera on the Galaxy S6, Forbes says that the new iteration will have faster processing time due to its improved and much better f/1.7 camera aperture.
  • Standard 3.5mm audio jack – Forbes said that this feature was a signature one for previous iterations. However, with Apple (Samsung's acknowledged fiercest competitor) rumored to be foregoing the standard audio jack for its own Lightning-capable connectors, the industry observer said that having a universal, standard 3.5mm audio jack will be a crucial and significant feature of the Galaxy S7.
