Samsung has yet to come out with details about its next flagship lineups. However, observers have supposedly already found that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 will bring back some old features of the lineup.

According to Venture Beat, one of their sources confirmed that Samsung will announce the return of a feature sorely lacking in the last two iterations of the lineup –- expandable storage.

The industry follower stated that the upcoming Galaxy S7 lineup will feature microSD card support, and expandable storage will be up to 200 GB. However, it is not mentioned if the microSD card slot would appear on the side of the unit as part of a unibody, metal-and-glass design, or if the Galaxy S7 will feature the support via a removable back cover. Should it be the latter, then a removable battery pack is also not out of the question.

Meanwhile, aside from microSD card support for expandable storage, Sam Mobile reported that another feature last seen on the Galaxy S5 and S5 Active will also return. Apparently, both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will have IP67 certifications, which means that the upcoming flagship iterations will both be dust- and water-resistant units.

In this case, the industry follower said that should the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge be water resistant, fans can expect that the units will have a unibody design, meaning there will be no removable back panels. However, Samsung will allegedly make up for it by featuring larger battery packs for both iterations.

In the report, it is speculated that the Galaxy S7 base model will have a 3,000-mAh battery and a 3,600-mAh one on the S7 Edge. The report added that it might be Samsung's way to compensate for the battery issue that most fans have experienced with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
