With the recent unveiling of one of Samsung's latest creations, the Samsung Galaxy S7, many can't help but compare it to other great phones such as Apple's iPhone 6s.

The iPhone 6s sports a 4.7-inch screen that offers a 750 x 1334 pixel resolution. The back-lit LCD gives a 326 ppi pixel density. It is then protected by an ion-strengthened glass with oleophobic coating to keep smudges at bay. It also comes equipped with 3D Touch technology that greatly reduces the amount of taps a user needs to perform to get to a specific application or action for the phone. The technology can also sense the difference between a hard press and a light press, thus performing additional action for its operating system.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 can offer more in terms of display, though. It has a 5.1-inch viewing area that renders a 2.5K Quad HD 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution with 577 ppi density, which is considered one of the best smartphone screens currently known to man.

Dr. Raymond M. Soneira, President of DisplayMate Technologies and a screen expert, was impressed by what the screen of the new Samsung Galaxy S7 can do and offer.

In his post on the DisplayMate website, he said, "I'm glad that Samsung decided to keep the Galaxy S7 screen size and resolution the same as on the Galaxy S6, because they look perfectly sharp (for normal 20/20 human vision) under all normal viewing conditions, so it was pointless to increase them. Samsung has instead concentrated on increasing the display's maximum brightness and improving its performance in ambient light, which has real demonstrable and easy to see visual benefits that every consumer will immediately appreciate."

Moving on to performance. Powering the Cupertino-based tech giant's phone is the Apple A9, a dual-core 1.84 Ghz processor, assisted by the PowerVR GT7600 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. Internal storage space is pegged at 16GB, 64GB and 128GB with no option to add more.

The South Korean company, on the other hand, decided to have a different approach when it comes to the Galaxy S7's processor. Market-specific models incorporate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset paired with the Adreno 530 GPU while the model for another market area has Samsung's home-grown Exynos 8890 octa-core chip with a Mali T880 MP12 GPU. Both variants have 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage options, and can support an additional 200 GB via its microSD slot.

Both phones from Apple and Samsung offer a 12MP main camera and 5 MP for their secondary shooters. The devices can also shoot videos at 2160p at 30 FPS, 1080p at 60 fps and 720p at 240 fps. However, the iPhone's camera can take a 4K video and also take an 8MP photo at the same time.

The power source for the iPhone 6s is a 1715 mAh Li-Po battery and can offer up to 240 hours during standby period, 14 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 50 hours of music relaxation. The Galaxy S7 on the other hand, comes with a 3000 mAh Li-Ion battery but no other information is available.
