The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge may have just been released earlier this year but a report from Trusted Reviews is already stating that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge are predicted to launch by early 2017, most likely in April given that this is the same time frame the S7 and previous Samsung Galaxy models have been released.

The S7 and S7 Edge launched this past March while the S6, S5, and S4 were all released in April. Previous models prior to these launched in May. It is likely that the S8 and S8 Edge will launch within the same time frame.

According to the report, the S8 and S8 Edge will come with a dual-lens camera that will give it the image-capturing quality more akin to that of a DSLR camera. This is also going to make the S8 and S8 Edge compete directly with the rumored upgraded camera for the next iteration of Apple iPhones.

More importantly, the phone is expected to feature a full UHD 4K display screen that will not only raise the bar for phone screen display resolutions but also make the phone the most viable option for VR technology. This may see a big increase in VR videos and VR video games.

The report states that the two phones will likely be powered by a Qualcomm's Snapdragon 830 processor and will likely start with 3 or 4 GB of RAM or even higher. There are rumors that it will come with USB-C support and that it will feature a larger battery to extend the phone's active lifespan in use.

Samsung has yet to announce how much the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge may cost but according to the report, it is likely the S8 will start at a suggested retail price of $899/£599. The two phones will likely launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and the foldable device, the Galaxy X.
