Samsung is currently experiencing a marketing nightmare following its Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploding battery problems. The company, however, is far from being destroyed by the single mishap, but it still needs to reassure its consumers of its brand integrity.

One way of doing this is by introducing a brand new product that will win over the trust of consumers once again. Some reports have predicted that the answer to the company's woes may be their upcoming flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S8.

There are, of course, a lot of expectations for the new flagship smartphone, given that the current generation Samsung Galaxy S7 is considered to be the best Android device for 2016. If the company can manage to launch another spectacular new Galaxy smartphone, then it might be able to divert the consumer's attention away from the entire exploding battery issue.

As for the specs, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to only be coming in an edged-display variant. However, the Korean tech giant may be offering it in different screen sizes which will likely include a "mini" version and a "plus" version.

There are also rumors that claims a possible 4K resolution display for the "plus" model, which will make it perfect for a truly immersing VR experience. The standard and "mini" version will likely still retain the company's already crystal clear Quad HD panel that is found on the current generation Galaxy flagship.

Other rumored specs and features for the new flagship includes an increased amount of RAM, possibly up to 6 GB, and a faster chip, likely to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The device is also expected to sport the Note 7's iris scanner technology which will add a new dimension of security to the device.

The new Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be making an appearance in next year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) event which will be taking place in Barcelona on February 2017.
