Although the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones have been out in the market for several months, reports have recently surfaced about users not receiving text messages. The root cause of the missing text message problem is not yet determined, although some people have already provided theories on how to fix it.

As reported by Slash Gear, several reports of missing text messages in Samsung Galaxy S8 devices have been posted online. It also appears that several Galaxy S8 users in the U.S. have experienced the problem. The missing texts could be blamed to telecom carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. However, based on the reports, every carrier company was covered by the problem. For now, there is nothing left for the users to blame but the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone itself.

Users have claimed that they are not receiving all text messages sent to them, even if they are using other SMS applications. There are several messaging apps that can be used in Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ to send and receive SMS texts, including Samsung's very own stock messaging app. Some text messages fail to be delivered to the user's inbox, even while using the Android SMS app or any third-party messaging tools.

It should be noted that not all text messages sent to the user are missing. The missing text message scenario varies in different reports. In one case, there is a text message delivered, but not all texts are displayed. Some portions of the message are missing, or worse, the text message itself is nowhere to be found.

Some users who also experienced the missing text message issue in Samsung Galaxy S8 provided a few tips on how to fix the problem. There are comments posted online suggesting that the "Advanced Messaging" setting in Samsung SMS app should be disabled for the text message to properly display. However, there are still a few users experiencing the problem after following this tip. There are also some reports blaming the missing text messages on the third-party messaging app Textra, but this claim has yet to be verified according to Tech Radar.

Samsung has yet to address the missing text message problem in the Galaxy S8 smartphones. Although, many people are hopeful that a software update will be released soon to fix the issue. For now, there is not enough number of reports to tell whether the text message issue is widespread or just a rare case.
