Speculations are rife about the upcoming features of Samsung Galaxy S8, which is expected to be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in February 2017.

According to reports, Samsung is making sure that its upcoming flagship smartphone device will come out with a lot of interesting features in order to recover from the company's losses due to the controversies surrounding the Galaxy Note 7 product.

Some of the rumored specs for Samsung Galaxy S8 includes the possibility of having a 4K AMOLED display with 3840 x 2160 resolution for the upcoming 5.5-inch smartphone. While the company has yet to confirm the validity of the report, this is not the first time that the device had been rumored to come out with a 4K display support. This possibly means that the tech firm from South Korea is considering to make the device competitive in the market's current VR trend.

On the other hand, a report from Mobile Syrup claims that the next-generation Galaxy S series will come out with a fingerprint scanner. This means that the South Korean mobile manufacturer is planning to remove the physical home button on the upcoming device.

If an optical fingerprint scanner will be installed, it could mean that the performance of the upcoming Galaxy S8 will be faster and more accurate.

Other reports also claim that the new Samsung Galaxy S8 will be equipped with either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or the Samsung Exynos 8895 processor. The device might also incorporate some of the positive features of the now-discontinued Galaxy Note 7 technology, including the iris scanner as well as the dual-lens primary rear camera with 16-megapixels. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is expected to come with 8-megapixels.

Also, the device is rumored to be equipped with a 6 GB RAM upon release.

At the moment, the South Korean mobile and consumer electronics manufacturer remains silent about the release details of the Samsung Galaxy S8. However, new information is expected to be released in the coming days.
