No one, or in this case, nothing can put Samsung down, not even the trouble it had to endure when the Galaxy Note 7 batteries started exploding. With a year worth forgetting, the South Korean electronics giant and smartphone manufacturer looks at a brighter and more positive 2017, hoping to rebuild its reputation among consumers with the anticipated release of its new flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S8.

With a lot of rumors swirling about what could be the changes in the upcoming phone, it's really not that difficult to realize that Samsung is gearing up for something really big. As a matter of fact, it's safe to say that the Galaxy S8 could very well become the company's most advanced and perhaps best-selling handset ever.

According to The Bitbag, Samsung has already confirmed its partnership with Qualcomm for the latter to provide the processors needed in building the company's premium devices, although it isn't clear if the Galaxy S8 will be one of those devices. Everyone knows that the South Korean electronics company has its own Exynos chipset at its disposal, but if rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy S8 is said to be equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 835 processor instead.

The processor, which has yet to be released, will be using a Kyro 200 central processing unit along with eight cores. Because the upcoming flagship is said to be designed as a capable handheld gaming device, the addition of an Adreno 540 graphics processing unit will definitely get the job done.

So far, there is a consensus belief that the Galaxy S8 will be offered in two variants — a 5.7-inch Galaxy S8 and a 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Edge. Well, the two variants are pretty much the same in terms of hardware and software specifications, and it is expected that the only difference between the two is their screen size.

Expect the Samsung Galaxy S8 to be launched at next year's edition of the Mobile World Congress.
