Fans are already looking forward to the next Samsung flagship. Slated to launch early next year, speculations suggest that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will come in two different versions.

According to SamMobile, reports out of China mentions that the new flagship will come out in different display options. Supposedly, the Galaxy S8, even as a top-tier flagship, will come in both base model and premium variants. The base version for the new lineup will have a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 2K resolution. On the other hand, the premium variant will launch with a 5.5-inch 4K screen. Both versions are said to come out with curved, dual-edge features. Should this happen, this means that Samsung is indeed phasing out the regular, standard screens for its flagship devices.

Meanwhile, aside from display options, the Galaxy S8 is also expected to come out in two configurations. Reportedly, the new flagship will both be launched with Snapdragon and Exynos processors. While Samsung has yet to confirm the details, having two chipset versions is highly possible. The South Korea-based tech giant has been doing it for the past flagship iterations, most recently the Galaxy S7 lineup.

Should this happen, fans can expect one version to carry the new Snapdragon 830 processor, while a market-exclusive variant using Samsung's homegrown Exynos 8895 chipset will also be launched. Both versions are likely to come out with at least 4 GB of RAM, although it is also possible that Samsung will join the current trend and release the Galaxy S8 with a 6-GB RAM.

Other purported specs for the Galaxy S8 include a new dual cam setup, an ultrafast fingerprint scanner, and an artificial intelligence assistant, an upgrade to the current S Voice.

It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will debut on Feb. 26 at the opening of the 2017 Mobile World Congress.
